I have heard this so many times from the people who come to me for dieting advice. They always tell me they are working so hard at the gym but they are not losing weight. And the truth is they are trying their best. They are just putting the energy in the wrong place.

Yes, you do want to exercise if you are hoping to lose weight. It will get your body moving and it makes it easier for you to burn fat. It boosts your metabolism too. But the calories you burn from exercising for an hour are not that many. You can eat those calories in five minutes depending on what you enjoy eating. That is why so many do not lose weight.

You have to focus on what you are putting into your body Рand how much. That is how you will lose weight. It is why I like to tell people about healthy food they can add to their diet. The second thing that you must do is watch how much you are eating. Even if you have to count calories, go ahead and do it. The only way to lose weight is to burn more calories than you eat. And it is easier to control your eating than burn 1000 extra calories a day!
